Indiana Pacers vs Atlanta Hawks prediction

Indiana Pacers will be looking to clinch their spot in the NBA play-offs when they take on Atlanta Hawks at their Bankers Life Fieldhouse in the last game of the regular season. A win is a must for the hosts, but they will have to prove their worth on the court.

A win for the play-offs

Indiana Pacers have been in a thrilling form in the regular season finale. Nate McMillan’s troops are on a four-game winning run ahead of the last match of the season and they are on the verge of booking their place in the Eastern Conference play-offs. Indiana aim to secure their sixth play-offs berth in the previous seven seasons and, no doubt, the hosts are going to leave their hearts on the court in Wednesday’s clash against Atlanta Hawks. Pacers are eyeing their 29th home win of the season and key player Paul George is definitely capable of helping Nate McMillan’s team emerge triumphant in the Bankers Life Fieldhouse showdown. George has been averaging 30 points in last ten games and it has to be noted that he led Pacers with 27 points to a 120-111 victory over Philadelphia 76ers.

The likes of Aaron Brooks and Al Jefferson are both rated doubtful for the Atlanta Hawks game, while Glen Robinson is sidelined with a calf injury. Coach Nate McMillan has no other selection worries.

Hawks got their job done

Atlanta Hawks will be looking to build on a thrilling 103-76 victory over Charlotte Hornets when they take on Indiana Pacers on Wednesday evening. Atlanta are eyeing their fifth straight win in NBA, but seeing that they have already clinched the fourth position in the Eastern Conference, coach Mike Budenholzer is likely to rotate against Indiana Pacers. Hawks have little to play for in the last game of the regular season and that is the main reason why away win should not be considered. Mike Budenholzer’s men outplayed Cleveland Cavaliers in their last away game, but, as I have already mentioned, the coach is likely to rest his star players against Pacers. Paul Millsap was limited (knee) to 22 minutes in the triumph over Hornets and the former Utah Jazz man is unlikely to be risked against Indiana. Taking everything into account, I do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors, who are with one eye on the play-off tie against Washington Wizards.

Coach Mike Budenholzer has no fresh injury worries ahead of the trip to Indianapolis, but he is likely to spread around the minutes. Thabo Sefolosha has overcome his (groin) injury, whilst Paul Millsap is likely to be rested against Indiana Pacers.

Interesting facts

  • Indiana are eyeing their third consecutive win at home
  • Atlanta scored less than 100 points in three of their last five away games
  • Paul George is averaging 26 points in last two encounters against Hawks
  • In their last meeting in Indianapolis Atlanta emerged triumphant
  • Jeff Teague has been averaging 7.8 assists this season

Indiana Pacers vs Atlanta Hawks betting pick

Indiana Pacers have been in a splendid form and they will be looking to put an icing on the cake with a victory over Atlanta Hawks. It is well known that Pacers are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that they are eager to secure a top-eight finish, home win appears on the horizon.
