Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers prediction
Golden State Warriors will be looking to double their lead in the series against Cleveland Cavaliers when the two teams face each other at Oracle Arena on Sunday evening. Cavs failed to impress in Game 1, but they are definitely capable of making life difficult for Steve Kerr’s troops.
Warriors proved their worth in Game 1
As expected, Golden State Warriors outplayed Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 (113-91), with summer signing Kevin Durant scoring 38 points, while adding 8 assists. Steve Kerr’s men defended the home court and they aim to move one step closer to regaining the NBA trophy with yet another victory over Cavs. Golden State have been impressive in the 2017 NBA play-offs, with the team setting up a new record – 13 consecutive wins. The last season’s runners-up aim to keep their 100% record intact and seeing that coach Steve Kerr can count on trio Stephen Curry – Kevin Durant – Klay Thompson for the game, I believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. Klay Thompson has been struggling to find his best form, but, no doubt, he has been playing very important role in Steve Kerr’s team this season.
Kevon Looney is sidelined with injury, but coach Steve Kerr has no other injury worries ahead of Game 2 and he is unlikely to make changes to the starting line-up.
Big fish to fry
Cleveland Cavaliers are on a quest to defend their NBA title, but, as things stand now, that is easier said than done. The title holders were totally outplayed by Golden State Warriors in Game 1 and their shot percentage was anything but impressive (34.9%). Cavs need to improve offensively if they are to upset Warriors at Oracle Arena on Sunday night and Lebron James is definitely capable of scoring more than 28 points in Game 2. Kevin Love failed to impress in the 113-91 loss to Golden State as well and the former Minnesota Timberwolves star will have to be at his sharpest as well if Cavs are to level the NBA series with Warriors. Cleveland Cavaliers recorded seven wins in previous eight away games on the road, but they will have a big fish to fry in Sunday’s clash against Steve Kerr’s charges, who look unstoppable at the moment.
Walter Tavares misses the game with a hand injury, but he is the only absentee in the away side. Tristan Thompson should keep his place in the starting line-up despite failing to score in Game 1.

Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers betting pick
Golden State Warriors have been in a splendid form of late and they are brimming with confidence ahead of Game 2. Warriors have improved defensively and that is the main reason why I am tempted to put my money on the star-studded hosts. Taking everything into account, Golden State are likely to extend their winning run in the 2017 NBA play-offs to 14 games.
Pick: Golden State – 8.5
