Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs prediction
There will be fireworks when Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs face each other in the Texas derby at American Airlines Center. Mavs aim to put an end to their three-game losing run in NBA, but beating the high-flying Spurs is easier said than done.
Dip in form
It has been six years since Dallas Mavericks won their last NBA title and nowadays they are not considered candidates to lift the trophy. Mavs failed to impress in the 2016/2017 NBA season and they continue to struggle in the best basketball league in the world this term. Rick Carlisle’s men are on a three-game losing run ahead of Tuesday’s clash against San Antonio Spurs and they are the rock-bottom team in the Western Conference. Dallas are low on confidence ahead of the visit of Spurs and we do not believe that home win should be considered. Dirk Nowitzki is nearing the end of his playing days and that is the probably the main reason why Mavs have slim chances of making it to the play-offs. In their last home game in NBA Dallas defeated Denver Nuggets, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the Texas derby against Spurs.
Coach Rick Carlislie has a number of injury worries as the likes of Dennis Smith Jr, Nerlens Noel, Dorlan Finney-Smith, Seth Curry and Josh Roberts are all in the recovery room.
No Leonard, no problem
San Antonio Spurs are on a quest to regain NBA trophy. Experienced coach Gregg Popovich is still in charge of the team and despite the fact that key player Kawhi Leonard has yet to recover from a quadriceps injury, his men have been producing fine performances in NBA of late. Spurs did well to beat Phoenix Suns on the road in their last league game, with Patty Mills leading Gregg Popovich’s team to the 104-101 victory. In Tony Parker’s absence the Australia international was the man to watch in the away team, but the French superstar is likely to return to the starting line-up against Mavs. Spurs, who are on a four-game winning run in NBA, aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration and they are likely to leave their hearts on the court in the Texas derby.
The likes of Tony Parker, Danny Green and Pau Gasol return to contention after missing the Phoenix game, whilst Kyle Anderson and Kawhi Leonard are definitely sidelined with injury.

Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs betting pick
San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich welcome trio Gasol – Parker – Green back to the team for Tuesday’s derby and seeing that Spurs have been in a much better form of late than Mavs, we are tempted to put our money on the visitors, who are after their fifth consecutive win in NBA. Taking everything into account, there is a big value in betting on San Antonio Spurs.
