Boston Celtics vs Cleveland Cavaliers prediction
A place in the NBA final will be at stake when Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers face each other at TD Garden on Sunday evening. Boston are tough to beat at home, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts.
TD Garden – the fortress
Boston Celtics recorded a routine 96-83 win over Cleveland Cavaliers in front of home fans in Game 5, but LeBron James led Cavs to a 109-99 triumph on Friday. Tyronn Lue’s men did well to level the series, but Boston Celtics have been impressive at home court in the 2018 NBA play-offs and it is no surprise they are seen as favourites to make it to the finals. Brad Stevens’ team aim to keep their 100% record intact, but beating Cavs in the decider is easier said than done. Jaylen Brown has been in a thrilling form of late and all eyes will be on the 21-year-old player, who scored 27 points in the 109-99 defeat to Cleveland. It has to be noted that Celtics are after their 12th consecutive win at home in NBA.
The likes of Kyrie Irving, Shane Larkin, Gordon Hayward and Daniel Theis remain in the recovery room. Coach Brad Stevens has no fresh injury worries ahead of the game.
The LeBron James effect
Cleveland Cavaliers left their hearts on the court in Game 6 and, as a result, they managed to keep their hopes of booking their place in the NBA finals alive. LeBron James scored 46 points in the 109-99 victory over Celtics and he is likely to pose a big threat for Brad Stevens’ team in Sunday’s showdown at TD Garden. Cleveland Cavaliers were beaten by Celtics in each of their three meetings in Boston in the Eastern Conference final, but maybe the time has come for Tyronn Lue’s charges to put an end to Celtics’ 11-game winning run at home. Kevin Love suffered a head injury in Game 6, but he should recover in time to face Boston Celtics in the decider and, no doubt, he will play an important role in Tyronn Lue’s team. You should bear in mind that Kevin Love has been averaging 17.6 points in the NBA this season.
Kevin Love is widely expected to take part in Game 7. Coach Tyronn Lue has no other selection worries ahead of the trip to Boston.
- Boston Celtics are after their 12th home win of the season
- Cavs suffered four losses in last six away games
- Cleveland had 15 offensive rebounds in Game 6
- LeBron James has been averaging 33.3 points against Celtics
- Tyronn Lue’s men are after their third straight NBA final
Boston Celtics vs Cleveland Cavaliers betting pick
Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be evenly matched ahead of Game 7 and a close encounter appears on the horizon. LeBron James has been producing
splendid performances in the Eastern Conference finals, but seeing that Cavs are not regarded as good travellers, I am tempted to put my money on the hosts this time out.
Boston are on an 11-game winning run at home and I believe that they will give fans yet another reason for celebration this weekend.
Pick: Boston to win
