Chelsea vs Arsenal prediction
After failing to beat Norwich City at Carrow Road in the FA Cup at the weekend, Chelsea will be looking to give fans some cheer when they welcome Arsenal at their Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the League Cup semi-finals.
Impressive home record
Chelsea have been producing fine displays in the 2017/2018 season, but they do not seem to be capable of overtaking Manchester City in top position in the Premier League standings. The Blues have been impressive at their Stamford Bridge this term and you should bear in mind that they are on a seven-game winning run at home ground in the national championship. Coach Antonio Conte rested several first-team regulars in a goalless draw with Norwich City in the FA Cup, but the Italian tactician is likely to field the best possible side against Arsenal in the League Cup semis, first leg. Eden Hazard returns to the starting line-up and he will be the man to watch in the home team. Chelsea have defeated the likes of Nottingham Forest, Everton and Bournemouth at home on their way to the League Cup semi-finals, but the Gunners should not be written off just yet.
Eden Hazard has recovered in time to face Arsenal, whilst January signing Ross Barkley is sidelined with an injury. Coach Antonio Conte has no other selection worries ahead of Wednesday’s showdown.
Embarrassing loss to Nottingham Forest
Arsenal continue to struggle under Arsene Wenger. The Gunners sit in the sixth position in the Premier League standings after 22 rounds and they suffered a shocking elimination in the FA Cup at the weekend. The capital club were beaten by Nottingham Forest (2-4) at the City Ground, but it has to be noted that Arsene Wenger mixed the squad against the Championship side. Arsenal are low on confidence ahead of the London derby against Chelsea, but, one thing is for sure, the visitors are going to leave their hearts on the field in Wednesday’s League Cup game. Alexis Sanchez returns to the starting XI and all eyes will be on the Chile international when the two teams face each other at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners have been struggling at the back of late and that is probably the main reason why away win should not be considered. To make things even worse for Arsenal, coach Arsene Wenger will serve a touchline ban against Chelsea.
Defenders Sead Kolasinac, Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny remain in the recovery room, alongside Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey.
Interesting Facts

Arsenal vs Chelsea betting pick
Chelsea are eager to return to winning ways following the disappointing goalless draw with Norwich City and seeing that coach Antonio Conte has a full squad to choose from, I am tempted to put my money on the hosts. The Gunners experienced all sorts of problems at the back in the FA Cup defeat to Forest and, taking everything into account, there is a big value in betting on the hosts.
Pick: Chelsea to win
Odds: 7/10
