Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers face each other in the 2016 NBA finals decider. Steve Kerr’s troops are regarded as favourites to win game 7, but Cavs are hungry for revenge as they were beaten by Warriors in the 2015 finals.

Back-to-back defeats

Despite leading the series 3-1, Golden State Warriors have yet to defend the title they won last season. The reigning champions, though, will have yet another match ball on Sunday as they welcome Cleveland Cavaliers at their Oracle Arena in the decider. Golden State failed to impress in previous two games in the tie against Cavs, but a win over Tyronn Lue’s troops would see Steve Kerr’s men defend the trophy. Warriors recorded five wins in previous six matches at home and, no doubt, they will take on Cavs in front of packed Oracle Arena. Golden State have been averaging 99 points in previous two games and it has to be noted that they missed a lot of open shots in previous two encounters against LeBron and Co. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 55 points between each other in the 115-101 loss to Cleveland and they will have to produce a much better display this time out if they are to help Warriors defend the title.

Andrew Bogut misses the match with injury, but coach Steve Kerr has no other injury worries ahead of Sunday’s match. Looney has yet to play in the 2016 NBA finals.

Cavs brimming with confidence

Cleveland Cavaliers rose from the dead. The last season’s runners up tied the series to 3-3 and they will be looking to record their third consecutive win over Golden State Warriors when the two teams take on each other at Oracle Arena on Sunday night. LeBron James has been producing thrilling performances in recent game and all eyes will be on the “King James” in game 7. James scored 41 points in the 115-101 win over Warriors, while adding 11 assists and it remains to be seen if he is capable of winning his third NBA trophy. LeBron has already won two titles with Miami Heat, but he is eager to do it with Cleveland Cavaliers. Cavs are high on confidence ahead of Sunday’s clash, but they will have to be at their sharpest if they are to win the trophy.

Channing Frye did not enter the court in Game 6 (coach decision), but he could play some part in Sunday’s game. Coach Tyronn Lue can count on all of his key players for the decider.

Interesting facts

  • Golden State recorded five wins in previous six home games
  • Warriors scored less than 100 points in two of their last five games against Cavs at Oracle Arena
  • LeBron James scored 40+ points in previous two games in the NBA finals
  • Cleveland recorded only two wins in previous four games on the road
  • Cavs scored less than 100 points in four of their previous six away matches

Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers betting pick

Golden State Warriors are regarded as favourites to win the trophy, but beating the high-flying Cavs is easier said than done. Stephen Curry is eager to prove his worth and I believe that the “Golden Boy” is going to pose a big threat for Tyronn Lue’s charges, alongside his “Splash Brother” Kyle Thompson.

Pick: Golden State to win
