Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers prediction

Thanks to a 137-116 win over Golden State Cleveland Cavaliers managed to keep their hopes of defending their NBA trophy alive, but Warriors could get their job done in the 2017 NBA play-offs final with a win over Tyronn Lue’s men at their Oracle Arena.

A win for the title

Golden State Warriors suffered a heavy 137-116 loss to Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4, but they are still on the verge of winning the 2016/2017 NBA title. Steve Kerr’s men welcome Cavs at their Oracle Arena on Monday evening and it is well known that the last season’s runners up are a real force to be reckoned with at home. Golden State Warriors recorded two routine wins over Cleveland in previous two home games and they are definitely capable of defending the home court advantage. Kevin Durant continues to impress in the 2017 NBA play-offs and the former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar looks unstoppable at the moment. Stephen Curry failed to impress in Game 4, with the “Golden Boy” scoring only 14 points in the loss to Cavs, but he should not be underestimated as he is undisputedly the key player in Steve Kerr’s team.

Nothing new in the dressing room as Kevon Looney remains on the sidelines with a hip injury. As before, coach Steve Kerr can count on his key players for Game 5.

24 three-pointers

Cleveland Cavaliers should not be written off just yet and that is more than obvious. The reigning champions proved their worth in the 137-116 victory over Golden State Warriors and, no doubt, they regained a much-needed confidence. Tyronn Lue’s troops made no less than 24 three-pointers in Game 4, with Kyrie Irving scoring 40 points for Cavs. LeBron James enjoyed a very successful night as well and all eyes will be on the “King James” when the two teams face each other at Oracle Arena on Monday evening. Cleveland Cavaliers need to win the game if they are to stay in the race for the trophy, but beating Golden State Warriors on the road is easier said than done. Cavs were totally outplayed by Warriors in previous two meetings between the two sides in Oakland and, taking everything into account, I do not believe that there is a big value in betting on Tyronn Lue’s men.

Walter Tavares is still out of contention through injury, but coach Tyronn Lue has no other injury concerns ahead of the trip to Oakland.

Interesting Facts

  • Warriors missed 28 three-point shots in Game 4
  • LeBron James has been averaging 28.9 points in last ten games
  • Golden State are eyeing their tenth straight win at home
  • Cleveland scored 113+ points in four of their last five matches on the road
  • Draymond Green had 14 rebounds in Game 4

Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers betting pick

Golden State Warriors are hungry for revenge. Steve Kerr’s men were beaten by Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA play-offs final and, no doubt, the hosts want this win more than the title holders. Warriors have been impressive at their Oracle Arena in the 2017 NBA play-offs so far and, taking everything into account, I am tempted to put my money on Kevin Durant and Co.

Pick: Golden State -7.5

Odds: -125
