Juventus vs Napoli prediction
Juventus and Napoli, the two title-chasing teams, square off against each other at Juventus Stadium in what is expected to be the most entertaining match of Saturday’s program. The Bianconeri rolled over Sampdoria on Matchday 10, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against the Partenopei.
Impressive home record
Thanks to a 4-1 win over Sampdoria Juventus extended their winning run to 21 games in the league, speaking of home fixtures. The Bianconeri quickly bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Milan and they will be looking to cement top position in the Serie A standings with a victory over Napoli on Saturday. Max Allegri’s men are just two points clear of second-placed Roma and, no doubt, the hosts will go for a victory in the upcoming Serie A derby. Mario Mandzukic opened his goal-scoring account against Sampdoria and there is every chance the Croatian attacker will lead the line for the hosts against Napoli. Fellow attacker Gonzalo Higuain will face his old club for the first time since joining Juve in the summer and it remains to be seen if he is capable of making life difficult for the opposition back line.
Argentine attacker Paulo Dybala remains in the recovery room, alongside Marko Pjaca and Rolando Mandragora. As reports in Italy suggest, full-back Dani Alves is likely to start from the bench this time out.
Now or never?
Napoli are desperate to stay in the race for Scudetto. It has been 26 years since the Neapolitans won the domestic championship and, no doubt, fans are hungry for trophies. Maurizio Sarri’s men have been having their ups and downs in October. Following back-to-back defeats to the likes of Atalanta and Roma, the Partenopei outplayed Crotone and Empoli in previous two league fixtures, but beating Juventus in Turin is easier said than done. Summer signing Arkadiusz Milik has been struggling with injury of late and in his absence Dries Mertens is likely to lead the attack for Napoli against Juve. The Neapolitans are eyeing their third away win of the season, but you should have in mind that they recorded their last victory over Bianconeri in Turin back in 2009. Napoli impressed in their last league match against Empoli and it has to be noted that they had 35 goal attempts in the 2-0 win over Giovanni Martusciello’s troops.
Former Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol and aforementioned striker Arkadiusz Milik are both out of contention through injury, while Manolo Gabbiadini misses the match through suspension.
Interesting facts
- Juventus are eyeing their 22nd consecutive win at home in the Serie A
- Napoli suffered four defeats in previous nine away games in the league
- Juve failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five home games in Serie A
- Simone Zaza scored a late winner for Juventus in their last meeting with Napoli (1-0)
- Over 2.5 goals were scored in each of Juve’s five home games in the league this term
Juventus vs Napoli betting pick
There will be fireworks when Juventus and Napoli take on each other in Saturday’s Serie A derby. The Bianconeri are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that the Neapolitans head into the game without important attackers Milik and Gabbiadini, I am tempted to put my money on the title holders this time out. Taking everything into account, Max Allegri’s men are likely to extend their winning run at home to 22 matches.
Pick: Juventus to win
Odds: 4/5
