Lazio vs Napoli prediction
All eyes will be on Stadio Olimpico when Lazio and Napoli face each other in the Serie A in what is expected to be the most entertaining game of Wednesday’s program. The Partenopei aim to keep their 100% record intact, but beating the high-flying Biancocelesti is easier said than done.
Biancocelesti scoring goals for fun
It has been 17 years since Lazio won their last Serie A trophy and, no doubt, the Biancocelesti are eager to regain Scudetto. Simone Inzaghi is doing a great job with the capital club and his men have been impressive in front of goal at the start of the season. Lazio kicked off the new Serie A campaign with a shocking goalless draw with newcomers SPAL, but they did well to beat the likes of Chievo, Milan and Genoa in previous three league fixtures. To make things even better for the fans, the Biancocelesti outplayed Vitesse in the opening match of their Europa League campaign and, no doubt, the hosts are brimming with confidence ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Napoli. Ciro Immobili just can’t stop scoring and the former Torino striker is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders.
The likes of Wallace and Felipe Anderson are both sidelined with injury, whilst Stefan de Vrij is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day. Coach Simone Inzaghi has no other selection worries ahead of the visit of Napoli.
Four out of four
Napoli are determined to put an end to Juventus’ dominance in the Italian top flight as well. The club chiefs did well to keep hold of star players in the summer transfer window and, no doubt, the Partenopei have the biggest possible ambitions for the 2017/2018 season. The Neapolitans rolled over Benevento 6-0 in their last league match, with the team extending their winning run in Serie A to four games, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Wednesday’s showdown against Lazio. Anyhow, Maurizio Sarri’s troops need to keep on winning if they are to clinch Scudetto and I am positive that they will go all guns blazing at Lazio when the two teams face each other at Stadio Olimpico. Dries Mertens scored a hat-trick in the triumph over Benevento, meaning that the opposition defenders should have the pacey Belgian attacker at bay on Wednesday evening.
Coach Maurizio Sarri has no fresh injury worries ahead of the trip to Rome and he is likely to field the best possible side against Lazio. Poland international Arkadiusz Milik is likely to start from the bench.
- Napoli scored 3+ goals in each of their previous four league fixtures
- Dries Mertens has already netted five goals in Serie A this season
- Partenopei are undefeated in previous four meetings with Lazio in Serie A
- Over 2.5 goals have been scored in each of Lazio’s last four league games
- Lorenzo Insigne scored a brace for Napoli in a 3-0 win over Lazio earlier in 2017
Lazio vs Napoli betting pick
Both Lazio and Napoli aim to extend their respective winning runs in the Serie A and a lively contest appears on the cards. Both teams have been impressive in front of goal of late and, taking everything into account, there is a big value in betting on both teams to score.
Pick: Both teams to score
