Los Angeles Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies prediction

Memphis Grizzlies nearly pulled out a win at Utah Jazz, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Wednesday’s game against Los Angeles Clippers, who impressed in a 127-95 victory over Brooklyn Nets. Clippers are eyeing their fourth consecutive win at home, but they will have to prove their worth on the court.

10 out of 11

Los Angeles Clippers failed to impress in the 2016 NBA play-offs as they were beaten by Portland Trail Blazers in round 1. Doc Rivers, though, remained in charge of the team and he will certainly give his all to help Clippers record a good result in the 2016/2017 NBA season. His men have been impressive in the regular season so far, with the team suffering no more than one loss in the league. Clippers have recorded ten wins from possible 11 and they will be looking to build on a 127-95 victory over Brooklyn Nets when they take on Memphis Grizzlies at their Staples Center. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin scored 41 points between each other in the triumph over Nets and the duo will certainly play an important role in Doc Rivers’ team in Wednesday’s game.

Wes Johnson and Brice Johnson are both out of contention through injury, but coach Doc Rivers has no other injury concerns ahead of the visit of Memphis Grizzlies.

Ups and downs

Following a hard-fought 108-107 win over Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies suffered a 106-96 defeat to Milwaukee Bucks at BMO Harris Bradley Center, but they did well to beat Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Tuesday. Marc Gasol added 22 points and five rebounds in the 106-92 victory over Jazz and you should bear in mind that the Spanish center has been averaging 18.6 points per game this season. The likes of Carter, Conley and Randolph produced fine performances against Utah as well, but beating Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center is easier said than done. Grizzlies give-up a lot of points when playing on the road and it is no surprise they are considered big underdogs in Wednesday’s game against Clippers. It has to be noted that David Fizdale have already suffered three defeats on the road, with the team losing to the likes of New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks away from home.

Tony Allen has joined Brandan Wright in the recovery room. Allen should return on Monday, whereas Wright is indefinitely out of contention. Coach David Fizdale has no other selection worries.

Interesting facts

  • Memphis conceded 106+ points in three of their last four away games
  • Grizzlies failed to beat Clippers in previous three attempts at Staples Center
  • Mike Conley has been averaging 18.7 points this season
  • Clippers emerged triumphant in five of last six meetings between the two teams
  • Clippers are eyeing their fourth consecutive win at home

Los Angeles Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies betting pick

Los Angeles Clippers have been impressive at their Staples Center of late. Doc Rivers’ men rolled over the likes of Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers and Brooklyn Nets in front of home fans and seeing that Memphis Grizzlies have been struggling on the travels in the 2016/2017 NBA season, I believe that the hosts will emerge triumphant in Wednesday’s showdown.
