Memphis Grizzlies vs San Antonio Spurs prediction

Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to extend their winning streak to four games when they host San Antonio Spurs at their FedExForum on Saturday evening. Gregg Popovich’s men aim to bounce back from a shocking loss to Portland, but the visitors will have a big fish to fry against Grizzlies.

Grizzlies brimming with confidence

Memphis Grizzlies have been having their ups and downs this season, but it has to be noted that they were hit by injuries in 2016. David Fizdale’s men have been in a fine form of late and they will be looking to build on victories over Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks when they face San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. Grizzlies are on the right track to book their place in the Western Conference play-offs, but coach Fizdale must warn his men against complacency as Denver and Portland are breathing down their neck. Marc Gasol is undisputedly the team’s key player and all eyes will be on the Spanish center when the two teams face each other at FedExForum. You should bear in mind that Marc has been averaging 20.2 points this season.

Chandler Parsons is out of contention (rest), but coach David FIzdale has no other selection worries ahead of the visit of San Antonio Spurs.

No Parker, no party

San Antonio Spurs suffered a 110-106 loss to Portland Trail Blazers at their AT&T Center on Wednesday, but it has to be noted that Tony Parker missed the game against Damian Lillard and Co. with injury. Spurs aim to keep their hopes of clinching top position in the Western Conference alive and I am positive that they will fight tooth and nail against Memphis Grizzlies. As expected, Kawhi Leonard took a lot of shots in the defeat to Blazers and it has to be noted that he scored 34 points. The team’s top scorer will be the man to watch in Saturday’s clash against Grizzlies, but fellow ace LaMarcus Aldridge will have to be on top of his game as well if the visitors are to return to winning ways. San Antonio are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but they have been producing fine performances on the travels this term as well. Gregg Popovich’s charges are eyeing their 28th away win of the season.

Dejounte Murray is sidelined with a groin problem, but he will return to contention on Monday. Tony Parker is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day.

  • Marc Gasol led Grizzlies with 15 points to a win over Spurs earlier this season

Memphis Grizzlies vs San Antonio Spurs betting pick

Both Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs are likely to take Saturday’s game very seriously. The hosts aim to retain their spot in top eight, whilst Gregg Popovich’s team are eager to stay in the race for top position in the Western Conference. Anyhow, seeing that Memphis suit San Antonio and considering that the visitors are determined to recover from the loss to Portland, away win appears on the cards.
