San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers prediction

San Antonio Spurs will be aiming to build on back-to-back victories over the likes of Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets when they square off against Los Angeles Clippers at their AT&T Center. The two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment and a close encounter is on the cards.

Spurs hit by injuries

San Antonio Spurs did not make a flying start to the season, but it has to be noted that coach Gregg Popovich has a number of injury worries at the moment. Key players Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker remain in the recovery room, but the duo was not sorely missed in a 112-95 victory over Phoenix Suns. LaMarcus Aldridge led Spurs to the victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds and he will be the man to watch in Gregg Popovich’s team in Tuesday’s clash against Los Angeles Clippers. In their last meeting in NBA Clippers outplayed Spurs (98-87) and, no doubt, the hosts are hungry for revenge. Nonetheless, seeing that San Antonio are hit by injuries ahead of the visit of Doc Rivers’ charges, home win should not be considered this time out.

The likes of Derrick White, Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker are definitely out of contention with injury, whilst Joffrey Lauvergne should recover in time to face Los
Angeles Clippers.

Four defeats in last five games

Los Angeles Clippers have been having their ups and downs at the start of the season. Doc Rivers’ men made a good start to the new NBA campaign, but the team then suffered a dip in form. Clippers suffered four losses in previous five games in the league, but Tuesday’s encounter with San Antonio Spurs could be the turning point for the visitors. First-choice point guard Milos Teodosic, who joined the club in the summer, suffered a foot injury in a 130-88 win over Phoenix Suns and he is likely to miss the rest of the season. It is well known that Chris Paul is no longer part of the team and in CP3’s absence a man to watch in the away team will be Blake Griffin, who scored 23 points in a 104-101 loss to Miami at the weekend. Lou Williams should play a very important role in Doc Rivers’ team in the remainder of the season and he could make life difficult for Spurs as well.

Milos Teodosic is out indefinitely (foot injury), whilst Danilo Gallinari is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the game day.

San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers betting pick

Los Angeles Clippers are eager to return to winning ways and they are likely to leave their hearts on the court in Tuesday’s game against San Antonio. Spurs will be without several starters in the AT&T showdown and I am tempted to put my money on the visitors.

Pick: Los Angeles Clippers +4.5
