San Antonio Spurs vs Phoenix Suns prediction
Having defeated Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night, San Antonio will be looking to keep their 100% record intact when they take on Phoenix Suns at the AT&T Center. Suns have been struggling to find their form of late and they face an uphill task in Wednesday’s game.
Spurs unbeaten at home
Despite the fact that coach Gregg Popovich had star player Tim Duncan miss the Minnesota game through injury, San Antonio did remarkably well to extend their winning run at home ground to 18 NBA matches. In Duncan’s absence Serbian giant Boban Marjanovic enjoyed perfect night (7/7) and no doubt the former Crvena Zvezda center is capable of replacing his more experienced teammate. Spurs sit in second position in the Western Conference and they are eyeing their 19th consecutive win at home. Gregg Popovich’s men aim to finish the year on a high and the fact that they scored 100+ points in each of their previous eight home matches is certainly giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Suns. As usually, the man to watch in the home team will be Kawhi Lenard, who is averaging 20.8 points this season and 7.4 rebounds. It has to be noted that San Antonio have recorded five wins over Phoenix in previous six meetings between the two teams.
Tim Duncan missed the Minnesota game with a knee injury and he is unlikely to recover in time to face Phoenix Suns. Coach Gregg Popovich has no other selection worries ahead of the game.
One win in last eight away games
Phoenix Suns desperately needed a win against Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night, but they failed to get one and the fact that they were beaten by Philadelphia 76ers three days ago is not giving the fans reason for hope ahead of the trip to Texas. Suns do not seem to be at the top of their game ahead of the San Antonio match and you should bear in mind that they have recorded only one win in previous eight matches on the road. Jeff Hornacek’s men need to improve their game as soon as possible if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive, but beating the high-flying Spurs at the AT&T Center is easier said than done. TJ Warren scored 23 points in the 101-97 loss to Cavs and no doubt the opposition defenders could find it hard to contain the 22-year-old forward. Anyhow, Suns head into Wednesday’s match with the lack of confidence and it has to be noted that both assistant coaches Mike Longabardi and Jerry Sichting got fired on Monday.
Eric Bledsoe had a surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and he could be out for two months. The likes of Cotton, Goodwin and Jefferson did not play against Cavs (coach decision), but they could return against Spurs.

San Antonio Spurs vs Phoenix Suns betting pick
San Antonio Spurs have been thoroughly impressive at the AT&T Center this season. The hosts are high on confidence ahead of the visit of Phoenix Suns and seeing that Jeff Hornacek’s men have been totally out of form in December, there is every chance Spurs will extend their brilliant winning run at home, so we are backing them to cover the spread.
Pick: San Antonio -15
Odds: -110
